3. One representative from each entry MUST attend one of the Participant's Meetings at the Chamber of Commerce office (106 Main Street in Portland)

2024 PORTLAND CHAMBER OF COMMERCE CHRISTMAS PARADE RULES & GUIDELINES
**Applications will be taken until December 5th, but after December 3rd, a $20 late fee will be added
**All entries including walkers MUST have lights. Entries without lighting will be removed from the parade lineup. NO Santa suits will be allowed. We will have Santa on a Create Energy float.
**Lineup will be on Victor Reiter Parkway (off North Broadway). The parade will travel south on Highway 109 to Portland East Middle School. Pickup will be at Portland East Middle School.
**All floats or judged vehicles must be lined up by 5pm
**Walkers or marching groups should arrive by 5pm
**Parade will start at 5:30pm, rain or shine!
**Entries must abide be all rules on the application / parade meeting form.
**All vehicles, including go-carts, must be driven by a licensed driver and have proof of insurance. Drivers & vehicle owners are liable for any damage or accident occurring from the use of their vehicle at all times.
**Entries may use sound amplification for musical purposes, but not for addressing the audience.
**There will be no performance stops along the parade route. However, you may perform as the parade is moving.
**Entry name must be placed on both sides of the first vehicle in your entry or carried by someone at the front of your group. The entry name must be visible to the judges.
**Distribution of candy from moving vehicles is NOT allowed. For the safety of all, no materials may be thrown along the parade route. This includes candy, flyers, literature, etc. However, walkers alongside entries may hand out candy and other items. Violations of this rule will result in removal from the parade.
**Show bikes (motorcycles) are permitted, however they may not squeal tires, rev engines, or cause a disturbance that might endanger anyone in or along the parade route; anyone breaking this rule will be subject to arrest and at the very least, immediately removed from the parade.
**No animal entries (horses, dogs, etc.) will be allowed to walk along the parade route. Animals that can ride on a float may do so.
**No graphic images will be allowed (to be determined by the Chamber staff)
**Leave at least 1 car link between floats and maintain a speed of 3 MPH
